Many of these top family attractions are just a short drive from our holiday park, with most accessible via public transport in the nearby towns of Brixham, Paignton and Torquay.

Paignton Zoo is home to thousands of amazing animals and plants. Visit the desert, cross the savannah, explore the forest and trek through the tropics at this great family attraction. There’s over 2,000 animals in 80 acres – a great place to roam and discover your inner animal!
Dartmoor Otters and Buckfast Butterflies
Feel the rainforest atmosphere at this popular visitor attraction as you learn about tropical butterflies in their special habitat – a great all weather family attraction. The Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary is situated just outside the southern border of Dartmoor National Park between Exeter and Plymouth.
Babbacombe Model Village
Take time out from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and feel on top of the world as you see it recreated in miniature. Babbacombe Model Village is home to thousands of miniature buildings, people and vehicles capture the essence of England’s past, present and future. Explore 4 acres of award-winning gardens showing model scenes, vehicles and people. Lots of hidden secrets are waiting to be found at this popular attraction!
Kents Cavern, Torquay
Kents Cavern is one of the most important Palaeolithic caves in Northern Europe and the oldest recognisable human dwelling in Britain. It holds beautiful and spectacular geological formations and significant prehistoric finds, some over 700,000 years old. It is just a short drive away from our holiday park and well worth a visit.
Living Coasts, Torquay
Living Coasts, Torquay’s Coastal Zoo, is a unique, world class aquatic visitor attraction, focusing on the conservation of coastal and marine life around the globe. Here you can get up close and personal to the penguins, otters, octopus and seals. This great all-weather attraction is the perfect day out for the whole family – and is one of the most popular South Devon attractions.
The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth was the first aquarium in the United Kingdom to be set up solely for the purpose of education, conservation and research. It remains Britain’s foremost aquarium and has attracted over two million visitors through its doors.
Dartmouth Steam Railway
Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway from Paignton is the holiday line with steam trains running for seven miles in Great Western tradition along the spectacular Torbay coast to Churston and through the wooded slopes bordering the Dart estuary to Kingswear. And you can further connect your journey across South Devon with a visit on the company’s paddle steamer.
Splashdown Waterpark, Goodrington
Prepare to get wet! Splashdown Waterpark is a great day out for the whole family and is one of the most popular South Devon attractions! This waterpark has eight slides, two kids’ pools, a swimming pool and many food and retail outlets. There are rides and flumes for kids of all ages. It also boasts some of the English Riviera’s most spectacular views and is located next right next to Goodrington Beach.
Cockington Village, Torquay
No holiday to The English Riviera would be complete without a visit to Cockington. This idyllic village is hidden in a deep valley just one mile from the bustle of Torquay. Here you can explore the 460 acres of Cockington Village and Country Park, where you can step back in time in the Church of St George and Saint Mary (c.1069) and take a walk around the formal gardens. It is easily accessible from the seafront by bus or car, or alternatively by horse-drawn carriage in keeping with the history of the area.
Torre Abbey Historic House and Gardens
Visit the stunning historic house and gardens of Torre Abbey and step back in time. Here you can explore the lives of all those who have lived here for more than 800 years. Enjoy the impressive art collection and programme of contemporary arts events or stroll through the stunning gardens, whatever the weather.
Woodlands Family Theme Park
There are so many South Devon attractions to choose from, but we’ve saved one of the best until last! Get ready for some wild rides and great family fun at Woodlands! The largest family theme park in the South West, Woodlands is a great day out for the whole family. This theme park near Totnes is perfect entertainment, whatever the weather. There are three exhilarating watercoasters, the awesome avalanche ride and high flying swingship, to name but a few of the rides on offer.
