So much to see and do this Spring!

Spring is a wonderful time to visit South Devon. After the Easter rush has passed it is the ideal time for couples to get away from it all and avoid the crowds. But, there’s most to this region at Spring time than just the spectacular scenery and must-visit destinations. It’s also a time of year that’s jam-packed with top local events. Here’s some of our favourites taking place over the next 6 weeks…

  • Dartmouth is a beautiful coastal town and should definitely be on your list of places to visit. It’s popular Dart Music Festival, from 11th-13th May will see over 100 performances throughout the town, spanning almost every musical genre – and it’s all free!
  • The Devon County Show is billed as ‘Devon’s big day out’ and is the county’s flagship event. It’s a showcase for aspects of life and work in the county as well as entertainment, shopping and good food. Head over to Exeter’s Westpoint Arena for the show, which takes place from 18th-20th May.
  • Brix Fest is back for 2018, from 26th-30th May. BrixFest enters 2018 in its seventh year having firmly established itself as one of Brixham’s leading festivals. From live music, stalls and stands to a grand fireworks display and sailing regattas – the festival celebrates all that is great about Brixham!
  • Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta will take place from 26th-27th May: The Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta has its roots in the Sailing Trawler races that have been held in Torbay since the early 1800’s. In 1914, King George V presented the Perpetual Challenge Cup also popularly known as the ‘King George V Cup’ – it will be incorporated into part of the Brix Fest event.
