Your Brixham holiday awaits...

Let’s visit… Dartmouth

One of the many reasons people choose to stay at our Torbay holiday park is its close proximity to so many picturesque locations.

Whether you head north, south, east or west, it’s not long before you arrive at somewhere truly idyllic. One of the most popular destinations along the English Riviera coast is Dartmouth – and it’s somewhere we definitely recommend you spend some time during your self-catering holiday in Brixham.

Steeped in history and with an abundance of great things to see and do, Dartmouth is just 7 miles away from our park.

The town gets its name from its location at the mouth of the River Dart. It combines charming streets, a stunning riverside location, rolling countryside and a vibrant local community. What’s not to love?

The town is jam-packed with history, heritage and culture. No trip would be complete without visiting Dartmouth Castle which, for over 600 years, has guarded the narrow entrance to the Dart Estuary and the town itself. It’s a great family day out (especially if the weather isn’t being so kind…)

Other popular attractions include Agatha Christie’s Greenway National Trust Holiday Home, where you can enjoy a glimpse into the life of thus much-loved author. This relaxed house is where Agatha would spend her holidays and the Xmas period with her friends, relaxing by the river.

For the kids, a trip to Woodlands Theme Park is a must! The largest family theme park in Devon, there’s something here for kids of all ages, with wild rides, an indoor play area, water slides and even a zoo farm.

If you’re a beach lover then Dartmouth is certain the place to be. Blackpool Sands is just a short drive from the town. This shingle beach has a whiff of the Mediterranean about it and is Blue Flag award winning.

But, if all that sounds like too much then why simply spend the day exploring the pretty narrow, cobbled streets, browsing the shops and sampling some of fine local produce on offer in the many cafes, bars and restaurants.
